IQID: 25146 - November 2022

This Metasploit module exploits a newline injection into an RPM .rpmspec file that permits authenticated users to remotely execute commands. Successful exploitation results in remote code execution as the root user. By sending a specially-crafted request using an iControl REST endpoint, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to bypass Appliance mode restrictions to cross a security boundary.
